SuperSteve!!!!!!! Exhilaration for making it through the toughest part of the ICW!!!!

Finally made it through the toughest part of the ICW- the shoaling was everywhere and the sounds were choppy....until the last one- we had 4-6 foot choppy waves and gale force winds!!!! It was so scary that I didn't even get up to take a picture!!! It felt like being in a combination ocean/washing machine!  The water was going OVER the boat!! Good thing our boat weighs 34 tons or it would have been bounced around (to paraphrase Steve) "like a fart in a skillet" I know, that doesn't make sense, but you get the idea. When Steve pulled in to dock the winds were 25-30 miles an hour and with the waves and tide it was unbelievable that he could even dock the boat....but he did a fabulous job. The rope lines were straining and sounded like they were going to be torn to shreds! I was freaked out but Steve knew after doing what he accomplished today he could do anything!!!!! King of the World!!! Great dinner, great people at Jekyll Island Marina! Tomorrow Fernandina Harbor and Florida!!!! Yeah!
This was not the worst- I didn't want to move to take any pictures- look beyond the breakwater and you can see the whitecaps- the birds were being blown everywhere!
